1. 2.3 million people have ordered an Apple Watch

Customers can now try on Apple Watches at Apple Retail locations around the world, and reports estimate that Apple has already received 2.3 million pre-orders for its upcoming wearable. While the first orders will ship on April 24, many customers will be waiting until as late as June, and the device won’t be available to purchase in person until at least this summer.

2. Etsy completes its IPO at a $3.5 billion valuation

Etsy, the peer-to-peer e-commerce platform that supports independent makers and celebrates the handmade and vintage, has gone public. Etsy has long empowered creatives to use digital to offer their products on virtual storefronts. The company is now valued at $3.5 billion, proving that personal e-commerce has a bright future.

3. iOS 8.4 has a redesigned Music app ahead of Beats relaunch

On the heels of iOS 8.3 last week, which introduced new diverse emoji and CarPlay features, Apple seeded a beta version of version 8.4 that includes a completely redesigned Music app. As Apple seeks to more closely integrate its Beats Music acquisition into its existing iTunes offerings, the new Music app sets the stage for new streaming features anticipated to debut at WWDC this June.

4. Google is building a version of Wear that works with iOS

Android Wear, Google’s wearable platform designed to integrate with Android smartphones, is reportedly being developed for compatibility with iOS in the near future. The addition would allow iPhone customers to see incoming notifications on Android Wear devices, and would expand iOS users’ wearable options beyond the first-party Apple Watch.
