Chicago gets connected—free Wi-Fi at 5 beaches

The desire to be connected is nothing new. Mobile device owners have high expectations for when and where they can have fast access to their mobile needs. Smartphones and tablets can be connected through a 3G/4G cellular connection, but coming across an area of free Wi-Fi is a speedy, data-usage-saving treat.

Chicago has taken another step towards being a tech-town. Mayor Rahm Emanuel stated, “I am committed to making Chicago one of the most connected cities in the world by expanding access to high speed internet in people’s homes, businesses and in public spaces.” How so? The city is now offering free high-speed internet at 5 city beaches, North Avenue, Osterman/Hollywood, Montrose, Foster and Rainbow beaches. As a mobile shop, we love to hear these updates — for the cities that push technology advancements forward tend to harbor more/better tech talent.
